The exhibition features modern artistic positions, each of which representing a specific trend in contemporary painting. Four selected young painters provide answers to what painting today means to them. By their artwork, they make claims and address risks, explore new techniques and try to find intersections with other artistic media. Each of them does so in a differentiated and subtle manner, by some kind of understatement, which expresses their interpretation of the world by the transformative power of color.

The show also reveals the challenges the rather traditional approach in painting is confronted with by new media and demonstrates how the artists use these traditional techniques to create pictures that nevertheless manage to break with conventions.

Within the scope of this exhibition, the Foundation for Art, Culture & Social Aspects initiated by Sparda-Bank West intends to promote a summer fair that involves a comprehensive communication program.
