RAW

With Ulrike Kazmaier, Dylan Maquet, Sabrina Podemski, Johannes Raimann, Moritz Riesenbeck

Following exhibitions funded by Kunststiftung DZ Bank at KIT in 2019 and 2021, this year RAW will present works by artists from the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. One of the foundation’s focuses is photographic forms of expression since 1945, whose wide range shows photography to be a deeply artistic and diverse medium. The conception of the exhibition is based on an equally impartial view of photography.

The featured artists understand photography in the original sense of the word. In the photo-graphic process, the concept of light (phos) is confronted with drawing (graphein). The result is a practice that is full of mysteries. The exhibition aims to contribute to the discovery and solving of these mysteries.
